6 Tips on How to Get Pregnant Faster NEW !

Are you attempting pregnancy for the first time? Have you been trying to have a baby for quite a long time without success? In either case, you are looking for a few valuable tricks and tips to get pregnant as fast as possible. How can you create good conditions to increase your chance to get pregnant? Let's answer to this question by means of a quiz.

1) Is there a favorable position to help you get pregnant faster?

Actually, experts agree that there isn't a specific sexual position to help you conceive faster. However, according to the majority of gynecologists, the missionary position (while the woman is lying on her back) would be a helpful position facilitating sperm to head towards the uterus and the fallopian tubes. Others say the doggy style is better.

2) Is having an orgasm necessary to conceive a baby?

Conception (part of the reproduction process) and orgasm (part of the sexual satisfaction) are two different matters. It is not necessary to have an organism in order to conceive a baby but a female climax would be able to help in a way. How? A female organism occurs with uterine contractions and would be able to propel or push the sperm further into the fallopian tubes.

3) Is it true that dying to get pregnant is an obstacle to conceive?

Explaining your concern about not getting pregnant fast to your friends, you may have heard this retort: "You think too much about that! You'd better forget it and it will come by itself!" It's quite easy to say, isn't it? The fact remains that there is some truth in what your friends say! Don't stress over the idea of becoming pregnant. Stress is going to affect your menstrual cycle and it will be more difficult to determine when you are most fertile. Additionally, stress would be able to prevent the ovulation. Relax as much as possible!

4) Does it help to eat chocolate or spinach?

Not really! What you must do is to avoid fast food and have a balanced diet of whole foods rich in vegetables, fruits, and grains. Eat also food rich in folic acid!

5) I'm smoking, is it an obstacle to get pregnant?

Smoking is not really an obstacle to get pregnant. It happens to many women. But it has been shown that smoking can affect fertility in both men and women. It's far better to cut down on smoking.

6) How can I determine when I am most fertile?

You can count the days, check your cervical mucus or even register your basal body temperature.

Five Tips to Overcome Stress

Tip One

Being right can be overrated.

Sometimes an argument can ensue if you are really wanting to be right about something. Don't sweat the small stuff. If you absolutely know that you are right, but the other person either doesn't want to see your point of view, or is refusing to listen, then to keep at them, wanting to demonstrate to them that you are correct - will provoke and cause more stress for you. Let it go. You know deep down within that you have all the facts, but for the sake of your own peace - stay calm and let it go.

Tip Two

Don't over-analyse situations

I have looked at my budget, looked at my bank account, looked at my work schedule, gone back mentally over situations thinking that I may have caused somebody some angst, wondered what I coulda-shoulda-woulda in all those useless time wasting endeavours of trying to over-analyse what is going on in my situation. I would have been better off thinking that what is, what is... and if I can't change it, or do anything about it, then just leave it be. Do what I can, and then stop thinking about it.

Tip Three

Don't sweat the small stuff

This is a good one for parents. I have two teenagers and a toddler. I have two autistic teenagers and a partner gets frustrated with toddler mess and other things. A lot of the time, I have to compromise and bend around and twist, for the sake of peace. I have learned that sometimes the little things don't really matter. The messy bedroom, the teenage floor-robe of clothes all over the floor, emptying the bin after asking a gazillion times for the teenagers to do it. Concentrate on what matters - peaceful living. Ask yourself, and get away somewhere quiet if you need to, does this situation matter in the overall scheme of things? Have you got clean clothes, clean dishes, clean toilet and generally not tripping over things? The family wants to watch a particular DVD and you can't stand those kinds of movies. In the end, I have decided that to let them go and do what they want to do, and I can go and do something else to entertain myself.

Tip Four

Don't take on things that aren't your responsibility

Do you get caught up in being overly concerned in what other people are doing? Are you begging your partner to come to the movies with you to see a particular thing, and they just don't want to go? Can you make up your mind to set to yourself, and keep your issues separate from other people, or go on to the movies by yourself? You aren't responsible for another person's happiness, and they aren't responsible for your happiness, so maintain responsibility for attending to your own issues, and let other people be. Are other people prying into your business? Quickly put it to rest by saying that you would prefer not to discuss it, and don't offer your opinion freely. People quickly end up blaming you for their problems if they have asked for your opinions, and then the situation goes belly up. I end up telling people that they have the capacity to solve their own issues, or refer them to seeking professional advice.

Tip Five

Take care of your own legitimate needs
You have a legitimate need not to be a martyr for other people. If you want to help others, by all means help them, but don't compromise on your own legitimate needs such as getting enough sleep, not going out with friends to an expensive restaurant if you really can't afford it, getting enough exercise and getting enough rest and healthy food.

How to Create an Atmosphere of Success

Negative thinking can colour all the aspects of your life so that everything looks dismal. When you change the way that you think, and what you think about, you can begin to see the world through different eyes, and create an atmosphere of success.

Begin the day by being grateful

Attitudes of gratitude and thankfulness help you to focus on what you have; look around you - do you have dirty dishes? That means that you have eaten, and haven't gone hungry. Are you able to walk around? That means that you are healthy and not restricted in your mobility. Do you have friends and family you can talk to? That means that you are not lonely and isolated. Meditate and think on the many things you have to be thankful for.

Practice random acts of kindness

It is often expressed by many philosophers that you reap what you sow. When you sow happiness for others, by expressing encouragement and kindness towards others, you generate positive feelings in others towards yourself. It also gives you a mental boost, knowing that you have made another person joyful today. Many movements such as random acts of kindness, or the pay it forward movement, or suspended coffee movements thrive on being kind. It is generally part of a person's nature to want to be kind to others, foster that natural instinct in yourself, in order to improve the quality of your own life.

Spend time enjoying yourself

If you are always working, and not giving yourself a break, you set yourself up for prolonged stress and for burnout. It is important to rest and to relax, to enjoy yourself, and make time for activities and hobbies you enjoy. The brain and body both need to have time out, so when you sleep, rest, and spend time in creative pursuits, you work with your natural bodily rhythms which complement a life of work and balance in other areas of your life.

Many people follow spiritual pursuits in order to maintain mental wellness

Studies have shown that people who engage in spiritual pursuits, such as prayer, reading the Bible, and belonging to a church congregation have better health outcomes than people who do not follow spiritual practices. The benefits of belonging to a community of people are natural, in that they provide for social reinforcement, mutual encouragement, and extended systems of support amongst peers.

Practicing deliberate positive thinking improves mental health

When you deliberately think positive thoughts, and affirming thoughts about yourself, you are rewiring the brain into being in a thriving state, where you are less prone to be susceptible to the negative effects of stress. People who regularly affirm themselves and are not haughty about their achievements, but are generous towards themselves in self-compassion have been shown to be more resilient in life through a number of psychological studies.

A lot of people have experienced episodes of depression, anxiety disorders and mental health
problems, due to a number of reasons, including trauma, chronic stress and worries about day to day issues. They may also have been subject to burnout from overwork, or the burdens of being a carer. Through the practice of surrounding yourself with positive people, people who are compassionate, and like minded people who choose to see things as always being hopeful, you can change your life, and look forward to better outcomes for your life. Positive thinking and the reinforcement of happy, likeminded and encouraging peers will set your course for success.

The Misdiagnosis of Mental Disorders

Over a third of medical problems that present to physicians in their offices and/or the hospitals are due to mental disorders. Doctors usually treat the patients' symptoms in hopes to make them feel better, without completely knowing the source of their problems. After running numerous tests and reviewing inconclusive results, physicians release their patients by telling them either nothing is wrong with them or following-up with them in hopes their symptoms will dissipate.

The causes of mental illnesses can come from numerous things. One being family history, two being past or present problems they may be facing, and three being sleep deprivation. The most uncontrollable cause of mental disorders is family history. It can take its toll on family members by seeing their loved ones suffering with a disorder, and then they live with the fear of knowing they may have inherited some form of it. Depression and stress can cause medical issues, such as fluctuations in blood pressure, headaches, and abdominal pains that can cause multiple visits to the doctor's office, and even the emergency room, just to be told nothing is found to be wrong. Sleep deprivation can cause multiple health issues with our bodies, as well. If we do not get sufficient rest, our bodily systems will not work properly, and we will not be able to function correctly. Without sleep, we can become sluggish, tired, and achy. Our immune systems will not function properly, therefore, we will have a harder time fighting off infections and develop preventable illnesses, like the common cold or even pneumonia.

In most instances, the person is unaware of their psychiatric problem. It is usually noticed by a family member or someone who is close to them. These relatives normally tell the physician of the subtle changes in the patient's personality and behavior that they have seen and of any other influential changes that may have occurred in the patient's life, such as death of a loved one. This will make it easier for the doctors, and they can do a Mini-Mental Examination in their office to test for any mental disorders. If they believe the patient has a mental issue, they can treat it with drugs and/or refer to a Psychiatrist for therapy and further treatment.

Physicians can diagnose mental issues on their own, but it may be a little harder, if they are a new patient who they are unfamiliar with. That is why it is good to take a really good personal and past medical history and ask pertinent questions about the patient's experiences. It is wise to not only question about the reasons they present to the doctor, but also other issues around them they may be causing these issues. If there are any personal struggles they are enduring, of course this will affect their behavior and later their health. Some mental disorders can be cured, therefore their medical issues will subside along with it.

So try to be as honest and forthcoming with your doctor. This will not only treat whatever symptoms, you may already be experiencing, but also prevent any other issues that might be arising due to depression, stress, or lack of sleep. These mental disorders can stop being misdiagnosed and be treated earlier and more sufficiently. This will prevent worsening of their mental condition, such as a brain tumor, Epilepsy, Bipolar or Schizophrenia, or the causing of another psychiatric problem by prolonging treatment.

How to Prevent Schizophrenia And Neurosis

Your mental health is based on your capacity to think, feel, and sense your reality, so that you may be able to solve your problems and find happiness. However, you are not as intelligent as you may believe and you are insensitive. You may believe that you are a normal person and you have nothing to fear, but if you belong to the human race your mental stability is in danger. You are absurd from birth.

You can become schizophrenic at any time, depending on the events and situations you may face in your daily life.

I know you don't want to think about this possibility. I'm sure you will tell me that a million things can happen to you at any time, but you cannot protect yourself from all dangers.
In this article I will show you how you can protect yourself from all dangers and prevent all mental illnesses through dream translation. The guidance you have in dreams protects you from all dangers because it comes from God.
You will stop believing in illusions and learn many hidden truths.

The route an individual follows when he or she becomes schizophrenic is always the same. The bitter truth is that we already inherit schizophrenia into the biggest part of our brain, since our anti-conscience occupies the biggest part of our brain and psyche. The anti-conscience is our primitive conscience, which didn't evolve with time. It is a schizophrenic conscience because it always ends up on terror and despair.

This primitive conscience is disorganized, but it follows a well-organized process in order to destroy our human conscience through craziness, the same way that all wild animals follow an inherited behavioral program in order to kill their prey. All animals already know which movements they must make in order to imprison and kill another animal before learning this practice. This knowledge is indispensable for their survival, since they are wild animals. All wild animals have the wild nature of the anti-conscience. The anti-conscience is a shark that can think.

The anti-conscience is a wild animal that can think and imprison our conscience into the labyrinth of craziness by following several steps, but it is an idiotic and self-destructive conscience. Our anti-conscience is schizophrenic because it didn't learn how to organize its actions and control its behavior. It is unable to solve its existential problems and find peace. We inherit this absurd conscience because without it we are unable to think.

An individual becomes schizophrenic because he is gradually controlled by his primitive conscience (anti-conscience) as he accepts the absurd suggestions of his anti-conscience, especially after facing traumatic experiences. He makes numerous mistakes, and he ends up on despair. This is how he loses his mind and his anti-conscience manages to control his behavior.

An individual is mentally healthy when he/she doesn't accept the absurd suggestions of his anti-conscience and he manages to eliminate his anti-conscience through consciousness and wisdom.
In order to be a mentally healthy person, you must learn how to accurately translate the meaning of your dreams based on the scientific method of dream interpretation, or submit your dreams for professional dream translation. The unconscious mind discovered by Carl Jung is God's mind.
God shows you how you can eliminate your wild nature and cure your anti-conscience by organizing your thoughts and your behavior.

Life is a complex and dangerous adventure. You must learn how to solve all problems and always behave like a conscious human being. Otherwise, your wild tendencies will ruin your life, and destroy your human conscience.

This means that you have to be able to tame the violent and immoral tendencies you have inherited. If you want to keep your mental stability and evolve, you must learn how be calm, sincere, and friendly. You also have to discern what is good or bad, and condemn hypocrisy, poverty, and terror. You have to be sensitive and understand how others feel, think, and sense their reality.

If you are indifferent to your behavior, your anti-conscience will find ways to control your behavior. Your ego must control your behavior, and not your wild side. However, your ego is selfish and idiotic. Your ego has many absurd desires. Your ego must obey the divine guidance instead of doing what your ignorant and one-sided human conscience desires.

Your one-sided and under-developed conscience is easily manipulated by our absurd and evil anti-conscience because you prefer what is bad. You believe that it is more advantageous for you. This is why you easily fall into your anti-conscience's traps. Then, you become mentally ill, and instead of becoming the brilliant human being you could be, you feel that your life has no meaning.
In order to escape schizophrenia and all the other mental illnesses generated by the anti-conscience you have to be serious and learn how to control your behavior. You will become a mentally healthy person when you will have the behavior of an angel.

You may believe that I'm exaggerating, but the truth is that the people you consider mentally healthy are in fact mentally ill, but their mental illness was not discovered by the scientists of our historical time. For example, today's psychiatrists don't consider indifference or anger as indications of behavioral abnormalities, while they are clear indications of insensitivity and cruelty.
A conscious human being must always be calm and sensitive. A mentally healthy person is not contaminated by the poison of indifference and anger.

Indifference is as cruel as violence. Anger is an explosion of hatred.
By translating the meaning of your dreams you will understand how many of your reactions are abnormal because they are not positive for you and for your community, even though you believe that they are 'normal' reactions. The global abnormalities must not be considered to be normal. Everyone shows abnormal behavior on Earth because everyone inherits an absurd wild conscience that must be tamed.

You have to escape the tragic destiny of your ancestors, and learn how to become a better person until you will attain perfection. Instead of believing that 'nobody is perfect' and living like a rational animal influenced or controlled by your wild side, you should desire to attain spiritual perfection and become a superior person.

You can attain higher levels of knowledge instead of caring about the false information of the hypocritical world. You can become a genius and find bright solutions for problems that no one could solve. You can change the world thanks to your work and your example.
Now that you know the tragic truth about the satanic origin of the human conscience, and now that you know that you have God's guidance in your own dreams, you must pay attention to the unconscious lessons in the dream images. I simplified the dream language for you, and God is an excellent doctor.

The Top 4 Ways To Get A Woman To Orgasm

There are 4 proven ways to bring a woman to orgasm. It is very important and should go without saying that women need foreplay and the building of anticipation to get their "juices flowing".
The biggest disservice that the porn industry has done to couples is present male fantasy as reality.
The truth is women need long bouts of foreplay of at least 15-20 minutes and the building of anticipation to get them ready for mind blowing orgasms.

With that out of the way let's focus on the 4 methods.

1) Stimulating the clitoris.

For most women it is impossible to orgasm without this stimulation so we should focus a big part of our attention here. Slow even pressure with either the tongue or fingers will get the best results here.

2) Using your tongue.

Cunnilingus is the best method to get a woman ready to orgasm. Using the tongue on the clitoris as well as the next 2 areas with discuss will get results.

3) Stimulating the G spot.

It amazes me how few women have had proper G spot stimulation. This is obviously a must for intense achieving orgasms.

4) Stimulating the A spot.
The A spot is actually more of an area than a spot. This is one of the least understood areas and yet when properly stimulated it is actually one of the most sensitive that gets the best results. When stimulated in conjunction with the other areas women can reach the most intense orgasms that they have never even imagined.

When worked properly it is very common to hear a woman scream like she never has before and follow that with, "wow, that was intense".

This is why it is crucial to learn to combine multiple techniques that stimulate all these areas in combination. The effect on your sex life will be huge.

In fact this is one of the best ways to get your woman hooked on having sex with you.
The best way to get the most out of these areas is never to tell a woman in advance what you will be doing as it will kill any anticipation that you are trying to build. Remember anticipation is key to making the magic happen.

So what do I suggest? Start small involving one area at a time until you build experience and your own understanding and confidence. Fromthere you should work to begin combining 2 and then 3 areas.

The results will be worth it.

The Shift in Relationships: How to Be a STRONG Woman in Love

Relationships are shifting. We don't have relationships the same way our parents did and we certainly don't have relationships as our grandparents did.

Men and women will always be different, but evolution has forced us over the centuries to change the way men and women relate, couple, and choose to be monogamous or not. Divorce has allowed women to get out of oppressive relationships and choose a different way to support themselves.

As relationships are changing, then the ideal relationship also changes. A while back you got married to unite families and properties, that was the ideal. Now we have an ideal of "romantic" love through marriage because of hollywood and also because we are moving into love from spiritual places, not just about survival and pooling our resources. If you think about relationships in the caveman era... it was ALL about pooling resources. And women back then were the main providers because they did all the gathering of the everyday foods, nuts, seeds, berries, vegetables etc. The men only got the hunt every other occasion. The women were the source of 80% of the food. With evolution women took the background as men started to be dominant in providing resources through technology and through controlling women in marriage so the men could track who was the mother of their babies... and just because the whole world become about control. The stranglehold of control is what is starting to shift on our planet. Big time.

Take a look at our economy folks, we are swinging back to women becoming the providers. Helen Fisher, an anthropologist expert on love has pointed out how women today are coming back to the center of driving the economy. Women are becoming stronger because they are more central in gathering resources, in making choices about our daily lives and taking leadership roles in our governments and communities.

Love experts have said that a strong woman is intimidating to a man, while others say a woman needs to create the nurturing space for the relationship, to be being the "soil" for the man to plant his seed and grow. I don't think this gets to where we are arriving at with the shift in relationships. I think a deeper evolutionary process is happening where we are questioning the biological roles of men and women and exploring how to actually shift these roles, so that both men and women can be aware of their masculine and feminine bodies and hormones AND have more choice in relationships, more choice in how to love and more choice in creating the ideal love that they are looking. I know when my mother got married, she didn't think of any of those things! She was thinking, what a nice hunk, I hope he picks me!

The freedom women have now in relationships, means we need to take our dreams and ideals about relationships to a NEW place. Being a strong woman has been said to be a challenge to a man, but throughout history strong women have been necessary for survival and for keeping families together. Strong women are the ones who recognize that relationships are not what we think they are, but rather what we CREATE within the family and with their love partner.

The reason we are experiencing relationship "breakdowns" is not just because we do not want to "work" on the relationship, but rather the relationship itself is allowing us to access every wound, hurt, question about love we have been born to experience. You may find yourself with a great guy or a wonderful woman, but the relationship doesn't take off because a part of you is still resolving a hurt in love or deciding what exactly is the love you want to create. You may be staying with a certain person in a relationship not for ANY logical reason, but simply because your soul has made an agreement to be with that person. So our logical mind may question the relationship constantly, but the soul knows you must stay to help you learn your lesson of love and to help the other person get theirs.

Strong women are the ones who recognize that even when our romantic relationships don't work, we are still creating love at every corner. We still hold open a space for love in our lives. And we are working through centuries of expectations where women were expected to suffer through abusive relationships. But not anymore.

Women are choosing independence before suffering, because the new ideal of the shift in relationships is self realization in place of giving up the self for relationships. Women are creating choices now that will shift the planet into a world where the individual in the relationship has a voice to change the relationship for the better.

Strong women in love are the ones who stay open to the shift in relationships, because we no longer have the guarantee that any relationship will last. That does not mean that strong women do not feel the hurt of a relationship breaking down. In fact, it means we become more emotionally stronger to take separation and hurt and loss into our hearts and heal and look at all the unresolved hurts that we have experienced in love, not just this life - but for all the lives you have ever lived. I know my mother did not have the opportunity to resolve her hurt in her relationship. So I also spend time giving thanks to her. In spite of feeling trapped, unable to express herself and feeling not loved, my mother taught me to be free, independent and strong.

Strong women, teach other women and men how to be hurt and still love in spite of the hurt, to give instead of going into "what's in it for me". Imagine what the world will be like when we finally shift out of feeling trapped in our choices of love, life and relationships and start healing those old wounds. This shift in relationships is asking to lift every unturned stone and see what remains unloved and love it until we can be free of any suffering.

Strokes and Emotions Following a Stroke

Emotions and behaviour can change following a stroke. Approximately one third of all stroke survivors experience some emotional problems. These problems can result in depression, anger, frustration, feelings of loss and denial. There may be communication disorders which will include aphasia - to do with verbal abilities and auditory comprehension where they are unable to speak or to read, write or comprehend numbers. Or there may be motor speech disorders with slurred or garbled speech. All of these difficulties will affect the emotions creating sadness and possibly depression.

Extreme emotions will interfere with the rehabilitation process. Emotions are hard to control, partly because of chemical changes within the brain caused by the stroke. It is also a reaction to the challenges of dealing with the effects of a stroke. There can be rapid mood changes also causing crying or laughing inappropriately, feelings of hopelessness, changes in eating and sleeping, anger, anxiety and apathy.

Anxiety causes sleep disturbances. It may also cause difficulty with concentration. The stroke sufferer may avoid going out in public or even seeing friends. Irritability, another problem, can also cause difficulties with concentration and the stroke sufferer may tire more quickly.

Apathy is a dangerous emotion for a stroke survivor. It is lack of enthusiasm, motivation, listlessness and no interest in anything. For the stroke sufferer, if they have apathy they will likely not work diligently at rehabilitation. This is detrimental to their long-term health or for a positive outcome with the chance of fewer disabilities.

It is important for the stroke impaired to find ways to relax, i.e.: soak in a warm bath, listen to calm music, meditate or go for a walk. Writing down worries or talking to a friend or family member may also help. However, if it continues for quite a while and all else has failed, it may be necessary for them to see their family doctor. Medication may also be necessary.

Stroke recovery groups are also good for the stroke survivor because often talking about the effects of their stroke with others who are going through the same thing can help. Acknowledging their feelings will help them to deal with their emotions also. It will be important for the stroke-impaired person to be as informed as possible because the more they know, the more they will be able to help themselves.

Emotions following a stroke are often closer to the surface and will increase in intensity relative to the situation, perhaps summoning feelings that had not bothered them prior to their stroke. As upsetting as it is for the stroke survivor to experience these chaotic emotions, in almost all cases, these intense feelings will go and eventually they will feel more like themselves..

Problems with emotions following a stroke can result in personality changes. But as the stroke-impaired person begins to feel more like themselves, these changes often will cease to exist.
Sylvia Behnish has published 'Rollercoaster Ride With Brain Injury (For Loved Ones)', a non-fiction book detailing the difficult year following a brain injury; 'His Sins', a three generation family saga about how the actions of one person can affect future generations, and 'Life's Challenges, A Short Story Collection'.

She has also written numerous articles for newspapers, magazines and online on subjects relating to brain injuries, family issues and motivational topics.

Are We Making People Become Mentally Ill?

Mental illness has become a major problem in today's society. Some conditions formerly thought to be not that serious such as bipolar and depression have been found to cause people to do things in an extremely irrational manner. Mental problems in people have been attributed to cause mass shootings and terror.

Are we making people become mentally ill by our behavior toward them? A very disturbing piece was aired on the sports news about an NFL pro football player who was treated badly by his fellow teammates to the point where he left and went home to try and cope with the extreme distress he was feeling. It was reported that he had suffered several incidences of unkindness from other members of his team, but the last straw seemed to be when a group of them invited him to sit with them at a table where they were seated for lunch. Possibly feeling jubilant that they were finally accepting him, he went to sit with them whereupon the rest of the team immediately got up and left. They may have thought it was a funny practical joke, but their actions caused great harm.

I had not been aware of the situation and do not know the player's name, but it does seem totally unconscionable that such a thing would happen. This was done by grown men who are well educated and successful. They most certainly should have known better, and there is no excuse for their treatment of a fellow teammate who should be looked after and nurtured instead of being bullied and disrespected.

Bullying is not reserved for the young children in grade school, middle school, or high school. It seems to be a problem throughout society. The unbelievably sad stories of young people who commit suicide because of bullying are too numerous for what should be a civilized society. When children in high school and younger as well as young adults in college or in the military resort to ending their lives because of bullying and harassment from their peers, it is time to take action and do something.

People can and should be kinder to their fellowmen. There is no reason to make someone's life miserable. Life is hard enough without people unwittingly causing more problems knowingly and with malice toward someone. There should be no reason for people on the same team to be mean and hateful to one of their own. They have enough opponents. They should be considerate and kind to those who are closely associated with them on the same team and for the same purposes.

When someone does feel bullied or suffers from stress and depression, there are people and means to find help. There are people trained to help people cope with the trials of life. Doctors and counselors could be consulted. There are products which are said to help with stress and depression. Finding solutions are important for the health and well being of everyone who faces depression which could lead to mental issues. People should be helping people instead of hurting each other. We should do our part to assist those around us rather than causing problems for them.

Causes and Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction

It refers to the inability of a male to sustain erection consistently and repeatedly. It is a common problem and is reported that it affects around 18-30 million men. It exerts considerable effects on the quality of life. Most of the time people are reluctant to talk about it to others even to doctors. This is why it is important to address this problem openly.

What are the mechanics of erectile dysfunction?

The penis contains two cylinder-shaped chambers called corpora cavernosa which runs along the length of the penis. They contain arteries which bring the blood to the penis and veins which take the blood away from the penis. When there is sexual stimulation either physically or mentally our brain sends a message to the nerves in the penis to cause the relaxation of the penile arteries. This increases the blood flow to the penis making it stiff and hard, thus achieving erection. There is simultaneous contraction of specialized muscles located in the penis which compresses the veins and reduces the outflow of blood from the penis thereby helping to sustain erection.
This is clear now that anything that interferes with the either nerve impulses anywhere from the brain down to the penis or anything that limits the blood flow to the penis can result in erectile dysfunction.

Causes of Erectile Dysfunction

Most of the people consider it as a psychological problem. However it is not the case. Although psychological factors are involved in the causation of ED but mostly we do have any underlying physical cause of ED.

Physical Conditions Leading To ED

1. Vascular diseases

We understand that it is the increased blood flow to the penis that helps us achieve erection. Thus any vascular diseases which impair the blood flow to the penis will make it difficult to get erection. They include atherosclerosis, high blood pressure and increased levels of cholesterols.

2. Diabetes

Males suffering from diabetes mellitus usually experience erectile dysfunction at some point of life particularly when they don't have an optimum sugar control. The erectile dysfunction associated with diabetes is attributed to damage to blood vessels as well as nerves.

3. Neurologic Disorder

For adequate erection we require proper functioning of our nerves as well as brain. This is why any disorder that interferes with the functions of brain or nerves can cause erectile dysfunction. They include conditions such as Stroke Multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease.

4. Lifestyle

There are some lifestyle choices which can increase the risk of erectile dysfunction. They include smoking, drinking and drug abuse. The do so by interfering with the blood supply of the penis.

5. Trauma

Trauma to the blood vessels and nerve supplying the penis can also cause erectile dysfunction. The importance of trauma as a cause of erectile dysfunction has been implicated in people who have been riding bicycle for longer period of times. This is because bicycle seat can put constant pressure on the vessels and nerves supplying the penis thereby damaging them and resulting in erectile dysfunction.

6. Medications

There are certain drugs that can cause erectile dysfunction. They include medications used to lower blood pressure and also some antidepressant. The irony is depression and high blood pressure are some of the causes of erectile dysfunction and the drugs you are using to treat these conditions also cause erectile dysfunction. This is why it is important for you to talk to you doctor if you are on any medications and you start having problems with the erection.

7. Surgery

Mostly older people above the age of 50 have problems with erection. This is the age when people also present with enlargement of the prostate and even with prostate cancer. They require surgeries for these conditions and during surgery the nerves supplying the penis might be damaged resulting in erectile dysfunction.

Psychiatric Conditions Leading To ED

The brain is involved in achieving erection as well as pleasure and excitement associated with sex so any problem that interferes with functioning of brain can cause ED. Psychiatric conditions are responsible for only about 10-15%of the cases of ED. They include
• Stress
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Low-self esteem

How to Treat Erectile Dysfunction?

1. Lifestyle changes

There are certain life style changes which can help in the improvement of sexual function. They include cessation of smoking, exercise and weight loss.

2. Medications

There is this famous drug called sildenafil which is well known as Viagra. It is not the only drug, rather there is a whole class of drugs called phosphodiestrase inhibitors. The other important medications included in this group are Vardenafil ( Levita, Stxyn), Tadalafil (Cialis) and Avanafil (Stendra)

3. Vacuum Pumps

They are specialized devices containing a cylinder and a pump. The penis is placed in the cylinder and pump is used to draw the air out of the pump creating a cylinder. This increases the blood flow to the penis. In order to maintain the erection an elastic band is worn around the base of penis.

4. Surgery

If the erectile dysfunction is due to blockage of the artery supplying the penis especially in younger patients we can surgically restore that blood flow. The other things we can do surgically is place an implant in there. This implant is filled with the pressurized fluid whenever erection is required.

5. Psychotherapy

Erectile dysfunction is a complex problem to deal with. Therefore it is important for you to realize that you have to involve your partner and talk to a doctor if you want to get out of this troublesome situation. The other important issue to keep in mind is to avoid any self-medication at all as it might have lethal outcome.

Learning to Adjust to Life Following a Stroke

Statistics indicate that strokes are often life-altering. Sadly, fifteen percent will die, twenty-five percent will recover with only minor impairment and ten percent will almost completely recover. But the rest, fifty percent, will require some type of care.

There are huge challenges in adjusting to the effects of a stroke. There will likely be fear, apprehension, uncertainty and usually life changes. It will be important for the stroke sufferer to gain some control over his/her life and to work towards independence. They will need to work diligently to improve their emotional and physical well-being by thinking positively. It will be important for them to remain positive as expectations, by necessity, will be altered.

Adaptations will have to be made to overcome limitations. Practicing daily will be necessary as continual effort will have a cumulative effect on their abilities. It will be important to set goals, to do things they enjoy, to be social and to try new things. It will be important also to accept the many changes in their life and to adjust to how their stroke affects other people. It will be natural to initially fear the future because strokes affect the body, mind and emotions.

Following a stroke there may be some paralysis, weakness in the limbs, difficulties with balance or language, pain or vague sensations of feeling in their body, cognitive and memory problems, feelings of frustration, feeling a sense of loss, difficulties with bowel or bladder control, fatigue, trouble swallowing or difficulty maintaining their hygiene. There may also be depression. It will be important to seek help if depression is suspected.

In some cases brain cells may be only temporarily damaged. In other cases, different areas of the brain will take over from the damaged areas. Rehabilitation will play a large part in helping the stroke patient. Goal setting will also be important. And as with everything, a proper diet is necessary.

It will be important for either the stroke-impaired person or his/her caregiver to ask questions regarding their care, to allow him/her to express their wishes and opinions and to be made a partner in their own health care. It will be important to keep them informed and to encourage them to join a stroke support group.

Special equipment may also be required following a stroke, i.e.: a cane, walker, wheelchair, orthotic devices or communication aids. There are also services available such as meals on wheels and transportation services.

Adjusting to the effects of a stroke will be different for each stroke survivor because like every brain injury, each stroke is different also. A lot will depend on the attitude of the survivor and how hard he/she is willing to work at rehabilitation. It will also depend on the severity of the stroke and where it was. Whether there is a family member and/or caregiver available to assist with follow-up care and rehabilitation will make a difference too in both physical recovery and a positive attitude.

  • Fear of dying
  • Numbness or tingling sensations
  • Chills or hot flashes
If left untreated, anxiety can lead to many psychological disorders. There are three characteristics types of Panic Attacks with different relationships between the onset of the panic attack and the presence or absence of situational triggers:
  • Unexpected (i.e., occurring spontaneously "out of the blue")
  • Situationally bound (e.g., seeing a snake or a dog always triggers an immediate panic)
  • Situationally predisposed (e.g., attacks are more likely to occur while driving).

Anxiety Disorder Treatment in Your Workplace: 10 Ways to Reduce Stress

Anxiety disorder treatment is something that can be put into action basically anytime and anywhere. Use these 10 ways to reduce stress at the workplace for healthier stress management and an easier time at work and throughout the day.

Anxiety Disorder Treatment

Some of the methods for anxiety disorder treatment are quite simple to enact and may be practiced in various settings outside of therapy sessions and other therapy environments. There are several methods for relaxation and stress management that can be incorporated as daily habits or lifestyle activities that can assist with anxiety such as breathing techniques and meditation.

1: Take time out to breathe.

Practice breathing exercises throughout the day or even meditate for a few minutes as an easy and relaxing anxiety disorder treatment.

2: Listen to relaxing music.

If you listen to music at work, listen to relaxing music. The music should be calming and soothing such as classical styles, lounge world music, slow jazz, or soothing sounds of nature. For example, individuals with road rage could listen to relaxing music in traffic rather than heavier styles such as techno or rock and roll to avoid getting extra nervous or anxious in the vehicle.

3: Slow down on the caffeine.

Avoid caffeine altogether if you can manage as an anxiety disorder treatment. If not, go easy on the caffeine because caffeine increases anxiety levels. For heavy coffee drinkers, it may be a good idea to first start with decreasing your intake, such as drinking coffee first thing in the morning and then substituting the subsequent cups with green tea.

4: Wake up early...

Starting the day with time to relax and get ready at your own pace is priceless. Enjoy arriving to work on time and not having to rush or worry about being late.

5:... but be sure to get enough sleep.

You don't necessarily have to get eight hours, but go to bed early enough to ensure a good night's sleep.

6: Eat a proper breakfast and lunch.

An empty stomach or a stomach filled with empty calories or too much sugar is primed for stress.

7: Be prepared.

One surefire way to get the anxiety going is to show up to work unprepared for meetings or presentations. With advance planning and preparation, you can reduce the stress surrounding a major event.

8: Get organized.

Organize your to-do lists, responsibilities, commitments and personal life in some easy to understand, easy to manage and easy to access way. Anxiety disorder treatment shows that when everything is lined up neatly in your life, you can better manage the work required of you on the job.

9: Learn how to say no.

Don't take on more commitments than you can handle.

10: Take mini-breaks throughout the day.

Feeling overwhelmed? Step away from your desk and go for a five-minute walk. Try to stand up and stretch every hour, and take regular breaks from screen time.

Fear and Causes of Depression

Causes of Depression

Have you ever wondered what causes depression? Perhaps you've received a diagnosis of depression and it made you wonder why some people get depressed while others do not.

Depression is a very complex disease and occurs for many different reasons. Some people get depressed as a result of a serious physical illness. Others may get depressed due to major life changes such as moving and leaving friends or death of a loved one, and some people have a family history of depression and may be obtained without any particular reason.

Cause of depression

What are the main causes of depression?
Abuse. Physical, sexual or emotional abuse in the past, resulting in depression later in life.
Certain drugs. Some drugs used to treat high blood pressure, such as beta - blockers or reserpine, can increase the risk for depression.

Conflict. Depression can occur as a result of conflicts or disagreements with family members or friends.

Death or loss of a beloved. Grief and sorrow over the death or loss of a loved one, even though a normal part of life, can contribute to depression.

Genetics. It is believed that the tendency to depression partly genetically transmitted to the next generation, but the way in which this happens is still unknown.
Major changes and events in their lives. Even positive changes such as the completion of their education, getting a job or entering into a marriage can cause depression, and it can do and bad events such as job loss or divorce.

Other personal problems. Problems such as social isolation or izbačenje from a group in which you want to be.

Serious illness. Many serious physical illness can take away energy and make you depressed.
Addiction to alcohol or other harmful substances. Around 30 % of people with this problem and has severe or clinical depression.

Does biology to do with depression?

Scientists have found differences in the brains of people who are depressed and those who did not. For example, the hippocampus, a tiny part of the brain vital to preserving the memory is often lower in people with a history of depression. A smaller hippocampus has fewer receptors for serotonin ( a neurotransmitter that gives us a sense of calm and contentment ). In a game that many other neurotransmitters such as dopamine or norepenefrin.

Although it is not yet clear why depressed people have a smaller hippocampus ( there are several theories ), one thing is clear - Depression is a complex disease that is affected by many factors, and the study of biological and chemical processes behind the state of depression will come to more effective ways to combat this disease.

Sex: Do Some People Have Sex To Avoid Themselves?

In recent history, the general attitude towards sex has changed and it has almost gone from one extreme to the other. So a more liberal approach has appeared and this is often how life works. This can be seen at a more personal level and further out, to include what is happening in the world.
Here, one can stop themselves from engaging in something and after a short time, go to the other extreme. This can occur over a period of weeks, months or even years in one's personal life for instance. And when it applies to a socially supported behaviour, it can require many generations to alter.

One can be brought into a family that allows certain things and disallows others and the same goes for the society that they live in. it is then fairly inevitable that some parts of their nature will be expressed and others that are repressed.
A brief look at human history will show that this has more or less always happened and still happens to this day. And what was denied at one point in time will often be embraced in another.

Purpose

There was a time when sex was seen by many as something people did when they were married and not before; and this was very much influenced by religion. It took place when people wanted children and there was no other purpose for it.

This naturally created a lot of shame and guilt around sex and removed a lot of pleasure from it in the process. During the 60's, the hippie movement really shook everything up in regards to relationships and sex. It is often said that this was the time when sex become more than an act one simply engaged in to have children.

Liberation

So, many people were liberated around this time and were able to enjoy sex and to really embrace the fact that its purpose consists of more than just having children. A lot of repression no longer had to take place and peoples wellbeing increased as a result.
And not just because they were having more sex, but due to them no longer having to deny their body's natural urges. To deny what the body needs is going to create more problems; frustration and a sense of being disconnected can arise. Repression is not healthy long term solution.

The Modern Day

From this point onwards, the purpose of sex has generally changed. And one consequence of that is that sex has lost a lot of its meaning. For some people it is still seen as sacred and something that must be respected. And for others, it is simply another way to feel good.

Although sex has a biological element to it, it can also have an emotional reason as well. And like any other form of escape that one can engage in; sex can end up being used for the same purpose.
So while the carefree approach towards sex in today's world can be seen as sign of growth and individual freedom, it is also a consequence of people having emotional challenges.

Regulation

One's body and another person's body, then becomes another way for one to regulate their own emotions. And when this emotional pain gets really bad, it can cause ones sexual drive to rise. This could be interpreted to mean that one has a high sex drive, when in reality; it is simply a conditioned reflex to cover up how they are truly feeling.

And as emotions are generally ignored and not dealt with in today's world, it is not much of surprise to see that so much of what is seen in society has become sexualized in one way or another.
When one is in pain, their attention is often brought down to this area of their body and their mind or heart could end up being overlooked. One is then no longer a whole human being; they are fractured.

Being Human

To be human means that emotions are part of life and that means everyone experiences the so called 'good' and 'bad' emotions. When they are avoided, they can build up and cause one to act in ways that are impulsive and compulsive; one is then enslaved to them.

So if one was to have sex to regulate how they feel on the odd occasion or during a time in their life that was extremely challenging for example, the consequences may well be minimal. If one has had a hard day at work or something similar and has sex with their partner to de-stress, it would be classed as normal and healthy.

On the other hand, if one has become what is described as a 'sex addict' or constantly has sex to avoid how they are feeling, then some kind of assistance may be required.

Awareness

This could be pain that has come about through a loss in one's life or through what has been trapped in one's body since they were younger. And while time has passed, their body is still holding on to the original pain.

Sex is allowing one to gain short term relief, but what it is not doing is dealing with the pain. Perhaps one has managed to stop this from affecting other areas of their life, or it could be harming all areas.
One could seek the assistance of a therapist of healer to release their trapped feeling and emotions. Here, one will get in touch with them and gradually release them.

Daydreaming for Brain Health

If you put an imaginary bubble around your head - a comic book type of balloon that showed a picture of what you were thinking about, what would it be?

Even while you are reading this you might be thinking about how you can't wait to stretch your muscles and take a walk or start reading that best seller you just checked out from the library.
If that 'thought bubble' was permanent, what a rude awakening that would be for most of us. The reason is that daydreaming goes on all the time in all of us.

Now here's something to really make you glad you don't have a 'Velcro' bubble of ideas swirling around your head. Researchers have found that one-third to one-half of our waking life is spent daydreaming!

So if you find your mind wandering during the day, rest assured, you are not alone. There is also good news attached to all that daydreaming. Wandering thoughts like what a warm beach would feel like now, or how nice it would be to sit in a classroom again studying astronomy or mulling over whether you should buy an electric bike can help improve your life.

Many of us understand sleep is crucial to good health. But we are just beginning to understand that those brief mental naps we take in between emails, or looking out the window during a boring meeting, may actually be contributing to our overall restfulness. Taking a break is also thought to give the mind a break from stress, a brief release and is an important way for the body to cope with the caustic effects of stress.

Give Yourself a Daydreaming Break

Current research is discovering more benefits attached to daydreaming. Researchers have found that daydreaming in adults may help repair some damage from aging brain cells. This damage may contribute to memory problems, concentration and affect other important mental tasks.
The benefits of daydreaming are also related to sleep which is crucial to overall brain function.

Research from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has highlighted how quality sleep, which can include daydreaming and an occasional afternoon nap, may help cognition functions such as memory and concentration skills.

Daydreaming can jump start new ideas that you mull around in that thought bubble. Think of daydreaming this way: Pondering life may lead to improving the quality of your life.
Dreaming while you're awake can inspire you to try something new, break up your routine and do something you haven't done in a long time. When was the last time you went ice skating or used a recipe that wowed your family?
Daydreaming can help you work through your thought process and get inspired and get going.

Use Daydreaming to Improve Your Life

If your daydreams are filled with thoughts like, "Oh, I wish I could do that, but I don't know" keep these daydreaming tips in mind. Small nuggets of an idea can lead to big things that may change your life. And daydreaming is one place for new ideas to form.

Daydreaming about people, places and possibilities can motivate you to take the plunge in making positive changes. But some people need even more of a motivator. If that's you, here are some things you should know about lifestyle changes - maybe first thought about in daydream - to help you improve your health and even help you live longer.

Jot down your dream ideas. If you've been daydreaming about something that pops up often, take note (literally) of your thoughts. If you keep dreaming about breaking your routine, it may be time to act on those thoughts and take a few days off.

Thinking about becoming more active? Do it. According to a British Medical Journal study people who are 75 or older and physically active lived five years or longer than those who were sedentary.
Get unstuck from too much TV. If you're daydreaming about sewing, golf or playing Scrabble, make it happen. A surprising new health study found the more you sit watching TV, the less healthy it may be. The study found that for every hour an adult over 25 sits in front of a TV, it may decrease their life by 22 minutes.

Put Your Daydreams to Work

Just imagine how many of these types of daydreams you have every day. Think about how many you probably have in a week's time. Hundreds and hundreds, but what are you doing with these moments of leisure?

There's no better time than now to use daydreaming to improve the quality of your life.

Attention Deficit Disorder Testing - Who Is Right?

There is a shocking report in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology which says basically that attention deficit disorder testing is conducted on an instinctive basis rather than strictly adhering to the diagnostic criteria.

The full name of the study is "Is ADHD Diagnosed in Accord With Diagnostic Criteria? Overdiagnosis and Influence of Client Gender on Diagnosis."

Given that these criteria are rather subjective, you can imagine that the doctors' rough rule of thumb approach just adds to the growing number of ADHD cases which are misdiagnosed.

There seems to be far too much reliance on intuition and the report suggests that they were influenced by the patient's sex in that boys were more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD because they fitted into certain preconceptions in the doctor's mind. The girls were less likely to be diagnosed with ADHD although the figures for girls are usually much lower. The study also showed that male doctors were much more likely to diagnose ADHD than their female colleagues.

There is more evidence to show that attention deficit disorder testing is complicated by the parents' attitudes. The fact their child might have ADHD is often considered as a social disgrace although the figures are now around 22% which is much lower than before.

Then there are those parents who deliberately want their children labelled ADHD because it will give them the opportunity to get special attention at school and also even financial benefits from the Health Service.

There is a further minority of parents, about 8% fortunately, who hope in a positive diagnosis because they can actually help their kids to get extra time in the SAT tests and other exams they have to face!
Attention deficit disorder testing needs a careful and thorough approach and there is no short cut. But many doctors, parents, carers and teachers are all advocating a faster method. They are also pushing for meds to be prescribed straightaway. Maybe to give them all a quiet life. But is this a justification for the drugging of the nation's children?

In the UK, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence is advocating that parents seek help initially with parenting skills and also stress management because it is no easy task having a hyperactive kid in the home. That is the first option and this may be followed by some form of medication which should not be given if the child is under five years of age. But studies show that meds will not really help with the behavioral and social issues anyway.

Finally, if parents really do have to go down the medication route, they should check out alternative forms of treatment such as homeopathy which is free of side effects and there are no health risks either.

Reacting to Anger - How Well Is Your Child Doing?

How do we deal with anger as adults? Surely, we are mature enough to avoid a violent verbal or physical reaction? Well, not always and we too have problems in self control. Then there is also the problem of carrying anger issues around as baggage for many years. One of the great sayings of Buddha was: 'holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die'.

A child can react to anger issues in many different ways. This depends not only on his or her character but also on the situation they find themselves in. They may be afraid of the person who has caused the angry reaction. Before you can judge about how well your child is doing, let us look at some of the key features of anger management.

Anger will be shown in many different ways

There are many manifestations of anger:-
  • sulking
  • physically hitting possessions or furniture
  • excluding the person responsible for causing the row
  • adopting avoidance strategies
  • talking about the problem to a parent or teacher
  • refusing to mention the problem and harbour anger and fear.
Teaching children how to deal with anger.

First, teachers and parents have to remember that children will need several reminders that aggression is inappropriate. This will happen a few times and it may be necessary to repeat the warning or activity to drive the point home.

Secondly, talking about such a strong emotion as anger will depend very much on how the child has been taught to express feelings verbally. There are some families where this never or rarely happens. This will determine the success or failure of trying to help the child to talk about how he or she feels when angry.

Thirdly, parents and teachers need to provide models where they clearly demonstrate or talk about their ways of coping with anger and frustration. Children will copy role models. If there is aggression and verbal abuse on the part of the parents, it will be difficult to teach gentler and calmer ways of controlling this strong emotion.

Using stories to help children deal with anger

Telling stories or asking children to read stories about children or animals in angry situations can be very effective. We need to check that these books teach a responsible attitude towards anger and that aggression and violence are labelled as taboo.

Look out for books written about animals in amusing situations where they have to learn to control their feelings when taunted, teased and provoked by some of their fellow animals in the jungle. Younger children can easily relate to these scenarios.

So, how well is your child doing? Bear in mind the above points and try to encourage your child to express his feelings verbally so that aggression will never be an option. Stories are one of the most effective ways of doing this.

Ten Good Habits for the Brain

I'm sure you've heard it before: the brain is like a muscle. So the more you use it the stronger it gets.

If your brain cells (neurons) aren't used they will wither and die. However you can build up a good reserve and develop new pathways. What follows are things you can do in your life that will give your brain a good workout, keep it nourished and in some instances actually change your brain.

These habits will do you good now and hopefully pay off in the future, as they may help prevent dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

1 Practise positive thinking

When bad things happen in your life, tell yourself that you will get through them. Know that you have the strength and support to do so and they will not last forever. In contrast, relish when good things come your way. As you go through your day try and see the good in the world and other people. By thinking this way, new pathways are formed in the brain. Yes the brain really can change and it is known as neuroplasticity. By developing a positive mindset your brain has literally built brand new, positive pathways. How good is that? Furthermore, New York University research found that when people engaged in optimistic thinking it activated the rostral anterior cingulate and the amygdala. These parts of the brain are both involved in emotional responses and are also affected by depression. So by getting into the optimistic habit, your emotional responses will be better and you will reduce your risk of suffering from depression.

A final reason to convince you to be optimistic is it is believed that positive thoughts can release serotonin, a brain chemical that makes you feel great. So you end up feeling even better, thanks to those original happy thoughts you had.

2 Engage in regular exercise

Exercise has so many benefits to both your mental and physical health and research continues to find more and more reasons for working out. The benefits to your brain are remarkable and I have included some of the highlights below.

Recent theories in evolution suggests we are smarter because of physical activity. Early ancestors would jog after their prey (endurance running) and anthrophologists suggest this led to brain development in humans. There is research that shows improved memory performance after participants had been running. Also, a 2007 Columbia University study found working out four times a week lead to increased neuron production in the dentate gyrus, an area important to memory.

John Ratey has researched extensively the advantages exercising offers the brain and notes that in the short term you will see a sharpening in your attention for a few hours after exercise. Maybe if you struggle to focus at work, a good time to exercise would be in the morning. In the long term, it may prevent Alzheimer's disease.

Exercise has been shown to reduce hypertension. If you have hypertension you have an increased risk of suffering a brain haemorrhage, which may result in long term brain damage.
When you exercise, a number of neurotransmitters are released in the brain including endorphins, serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine. These are naturally-occurring mood boosters which reduce your risk of depression.

Research by Weuve et al (2004) at the Harvard School of Public Health found exercise reduced cognitive decline in older women. The benefits were shown for women in their 70s and 80s who walked just 90 minutes a week. However, the more active the person was, the greater the benefits. Exercise is thought to increase neural fibres, synapses and capillaries. Another study by Duff et al (2008) found that older people who walked slower did not perform as well in cognitive tests as did people who walked faster. An indication of a slow walk is someone who took more than 17 seconds to walk 50 feet. So keep up your walking regime now for later benefits.

It is apparent there are both short term and long term gains for your brain health when you exercise. Remember to enjoy what you're doing and mix things up a bit to keep your brain alert.

3 Go dancing

When you dance there is a lot to think about. Quick decisions must be made, you must pay attention, you must remember the moves, be aware of your partner, keep track of your body in space and be in touch with the rhythm of the music. It is not surprising to learn then that dance activates many different parts of the brain - giving both your brain and body an effective workout. Your cerebral cortex and hippocampus are used when you are dancing and dancing requires complex neural pathways. Through the formation of these new pathways, your brain is getting bigger and stronger and more resistant to cognitive problems in later life.

A New England Journal of Medicine report compared a variety of recreational activities to see which ones helped reduce the risk of dementia. People who danced on a regular basis had a 76% reduced risk of dementia. This reduced risk was greater than reading or doing crossword puzzles, both beneficial activities.

4 Eat healthily and not too much

For good physical and mental health keep a balanced diet high in wholefoods, fruit and vegetables. However there are certain goods that are good for the brain. These include: fruit, vegetables, and proteins such as eggs, soy, beans, nuts and seeds. Cinnamon, rosemary, turmeric, basil are all thought to help protect against Alzheimer's disease. Drinking fruit or vegetable juice may help protect damage to brain cells as they contain high levels of polyphenols, which are antioxidants. A 2006 University of South Florida study found people who drank such juices were less likely to develop Alzheimer's disease. Of course, an overall healthy lifestyle may have been important to such people, so it's not just about the juice.

It also seems that eating too much can lead to changes in the brain. Eating too many high-calorie foods (those with lots of fat and sugar) can cause the brain to change so that it makes it more likely a person will overeat. The changes are similar to what happens when a person becomes addicted to drugs. Another study showed that overeating can increase a person's risk of memory loss. People over 70 who ate between 2143 and 6000 calories a day were twice as likely to be diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment compared to those who ate between 600 and 1525 calories a day. The risk was not apparent for those who ate less than 2143 calories a day. It is theorised that overeating causes brain changes that resulted in memory problems.

5 Switch off the television

Watching too much television can increase your risk of developing Alzheimer's according to a 2005 study published in Brain and Cognition. The risk rose by 1.3% for each additional hour a day spent watching television. Not only is television watching a passive activity, but also the more hours spent in front of the box means less time available for other activities that will give your brain a good workout.

6 Play video games

If you must sit in front of the television you may as well be active whilst you are there. The answer, believe it or not is video games. In moderation of course. Researchers are finding that playing video games is doing the brain good. Bavelier's research has shown gamers are more focused than non-gamers and are proficient at tracking information. Brain scans showed gamers' brains were more efficient and quicker when it came to paying attention (they are able to track 6 things at once. The norm is 4). Other research has shown gamers to be more creative, better decision makers, have superior perceptual skills and improved hand-eye coordination. Now as a COD widow, do I tell my husband this?

7 Puzzles and games

Puzzles and games activate different parts of the brain depending on the type. Engage in anything that gets you thinking. Play chess, logic puzzles, anagrams, strategy games, crosswords, Sudoku, Mahjong, jigsaws, card games, scrabble. Try to do a variety to exercise different areas of your brain and increase the complexity once they get too easy.

Bunge and Mackey had students play board, card and video games that challenged either their processing speed or reasoning ability. After 8 weeks the reasoning ability trained students saw a 32% increase in their non-verbal intelligence scores. The processing speed trained students saw their speed scores increase by 27%.

8 Learn new things

When you learn something new, you create new connections between neurons and existing ones get stronger. Learning new things is not just about taking courses or expanding your knowledge in new areas. It's about adapting to changes that occur every day. For instance, whenever your favourite software or social media app gets an upgrade you may complain about the change. However, think about your brain for a moment. It's used to the old way of working and doesn't have to work very hard to operate the software. The change means you are having to actively think again, which leads to the creation of new pathways. You've given your brain a workout. So, the next time you encounter a challenge, rather than give up, resolve to master it. Not only will you feel a sense of achievement, but your brain will be bigger too!

9 Don't see intelligence as a fixed thing

Research by Dweck and colleagues showed that when students were taught to recognise that the brain forms new connections and essentially grows through learning, the group saw an increase in their maths grades. As adults it's easy to assume that we all our learning and development is complete. By now you are either good at something or you are not. I hope this article has shown that your brain can continue to grow and that the more pathways you have the better. Shake off any labels given to you as a child. Give things a go, resolve to learn a new skill or face your Achilles heel. If you've decided to work on your Achilles heel, keep in mind that if you are struggling, there is more than one way to learn something. Give yourself a new pathway to follow.

10 Read a book

There's a lot involved when you settle down to the seemingly relaxing activity of reading. Your brain is kept busy as you need to store information about what you have read and be able to retrieve it as you progress through the book. Who was that character mentioned 100 pages ago? You also activate your creativity and imagination as you bring the characters described in words to life in your mind. This is just fiction. There's also the possibility of learning about new areas that you know nothing about by browsing the non-fiction section. If you are a collector of free kindle books, make sure you set aside time to actually read them.

The French National Institute of Medical Research demonstrated that people who did not read were 18% more likely to develop dementia and the symptoms would be more severe. Reading can also push back the onset of Alzheimer's for those genetically predisposed to the condition.

The Superiority Of The Unconscious Psychotherapy In Dreams

Many people cannot trust the meaning of their dreams and believe that they can be completely cured from any mental illness through dream translation. However, everyone should in fact be afraid of the human ignorance, and not afraid of the unconscious wisdom.

God is the dream producer. The unconscious mind that produces our dreams is God's mind. This is a very important scientific and religious truth, but Carl Jung, the brilliant scientist who discovered this truth thanks to his extraordinary method of dream interpretation, was not able to understand the religious importance of his discovery.

I had to continue his research because I was a literature writer since 7-years-old. The unconscious mind gives us artistic talents and religious inclinations. My extraordinary literary talent helped me perceive the hypocrisy that prevails in our crazy world.

Our absurd and cruel world is not a place where we can be mentally health and find happiness. We have to correct many mistakes. This basic truth couldn't be perceived by most people because we believe in illusions, we are under-developed primates, and we have inherited an absurd and evil wild conscience, the anti-conscience.

God tried to show me this truth since my childhood, especially thanks to my literary talent and my privileged position in Brazil, a country where many poor people were starving, while a small percentage of the population had many privileges. I was prepared to discover the satanic origin of the human conscience (when I became 28-years-old) since my childhood in Sao Paulo, a very big city with many beggars.

My parents were Greek and they made money. I grew up like a princess in a place where many people were poor. My literary talent and my religiosity when I was a child helped me gradually understand the absurdity and the evilness of the human conscience. I observed into practice the absurdity of the existence of poverty on Earth.

I was very religious when I was a child. I studied in a Catholic school with Silesian nuns since 6-years-old until 17-years-old and a half.

However, when I was 15-years-old I lost my faith after suffering from a tragic car accident, and I started writing a literary book with the intention to put an end to poverty on Earth. This book was totally inspired by the unconscious mind. The translation of the symbolism contained in the story I was narrating in this book according to the scientific method of dream interpretation reflects two important symbolic meanings. They are not visible when we interpret the story narrated based on its literary meaning.

I started caring about dream interpretation because when I became a young adult I had many psychological problems. My father was schizophrenic and I understood that my behavior looked like his behavior in many ways. I didn't want to have the same tragic end.

I became a dream expert a little bit before facing the most dangerous experience of my life. God saved me from hell by showing me the truth about the human nature, and the severity of my mental illness. This is why I accepted to precisely obey the divine guidance and fight craziness like a hero.
Everything was part of God's plan for the salvation of humanity from craziness and terror. Many other people are part of this plan; I'm not the only one. You can be part of this plan too if you will precisely obey the divine guidance in your dreams. God needs your cooperation, and you need His guidance.

This is a very long plan. God is trying to transform our satanic anti-conscience into a human conscience during uncountable years, without being able to tame this demon. He needs our participation. We must help God transform our absurd and evil nature into human nature, so that we may be transformed into perfect human beings. We have to attain sanctity in order to be mentally healthy.

This is the solution for all human problems, but attaining sanctity is a very difficult matter for creatures who have an under-developed conscience and a huge anti-conscience like us. This is why God works like a psychotherapist. God produces dreams that can save us from the anti-conscience's traps if we pay attention to the guidance we have.

God showed me the truth about the human nature through poetry when I was a child and a teen. All my poems were inspired by the unconscious mind. Even though I was helped this way, I couldn't understand the real meaning of my poems. The scientific knowledge I acquired thanks to Carl Jung's discoveries about the meaning of dreams helped me understand the mysterious meaning of my literary works.

Then, I could clearly understand the difference between God's wisdom and the false knowledge of the world. The world is commercial and cruel. The world is indifferent to poverty, wars, and crimes. The world uses psychological tricks to manipulate the ignorant population and make everyone purchase things they don't really need.

Our hypocritical world is so insensitive and absurd that all the knowledge we have is false. Only a few human beings can be considered exceptions to this rule. Carl Jung surely was one of them, but many of his conclusions were insensitive because he was a scientist. This is why he couldn't perceive the sanctity of the unconscious mind and the evilness of the human conscience.

Our hypocrisy makes us accept what is bad without considering what is bad as if it was something negative. We give different definitions to our insanity. We hide our irresponsibility with excuses. We don't want to see what is bad.

I could understand how really insensitive we are when I discovered the existence of the anti-conscience and I started observing various details that denounce our demoniac nature. The truth is that there are more than too many details that denounce our absurdity and evilness because we are influenced or controlled by our anti-conscience most of the time. However, we are unable to recognize these details because we are used with the selfish and indifferent mindset of the world.

God couldn't explain to a psychiatrist or to a psychologist that the cure for all mental illnesses is based on the cultivation of real goodness. This is why he had the idea to show the truth to a literature writer through poems and stories, and then, help this writer find more information in science, in order to complete her research.

There are many reasons that justify the necessity to show the truth about the satanic origin of the human conscience to someone else, who wouldn't be a scientist, but the main reason why God had to show this truth to a literature writer is the fact that the symbolic literary language is similar to the symbolic dream language.

By giving me an extraordinary literary talent, God found a way to help me understand the depth of the human absurdity and evilness, while trusting His wisdom. In parallel with the human absurdity I also had information about the brilliant essence existent in all human beings. I knew that we can find salvation.

God's existence was a very important matter for me, especially after the six years of my atheism, after the terrible car accident. When I read a book about a symposium with many different scientists from various fields and they declared that we must admit God's existence if we want to explain what cannot be explained with the knowledge we have, I started caring about science. I read many scientific books about many different subjects, besides studying Carl Jung's complicated method of dream interpretation.

I was very excited with the scientific knowledge I had. I felt I was born to be a scientist, but I didn't know I had this talent.

However, my enthusiasm disappeared when I discovered that we have no information about the functioning of the human brain and everything concerning our mental health is based on theories.
I understood how lucky I was because I was following the wise guidance of the unconscious mind in dreams, and finding sound mental health instead of trusting the ignorant doctors of my historical time. This was a true privilege, while I started following dream therapy because at that time I was a young mother and I had to be with my baby all the time.

I found sound mental health and I also became a psychiatrist and psychologist. I cured many people through dream therapy into practice.

Only thanks to the divine guidance in dreams could I learn how to eliminate invincible mental illnesses. After having basic notion about the depth of the human absurdity, I was able to simplify Carl Jung's complicated and obscure method of dream interpretation, while translating many people's dreams very fast because they had no time for complications.

I verified that the depth of the human absurdity is disappointing and scaring. A human being cannot deal with this absurdity without superior guidance.

Carl Jung believed that the human conscience should be respected as a leader, but this was an erroneous conclusion. Since our conscience is one-sided and under-developed, and since we tend to become neurotic with time, this means that our conscience cannot be trusted. Our conscience must be developed through consciousness because we are idiotic.

Thus, we have to follow a series of steps for the development of our conscience, what means that we have to transform our absurd and evil anti-conscience into a human conscience. Only God knows how to help us eliminate our dangerous anti-conscience. This is why we have to obey the divine guidance in dreams and in our religion.
